Bhubaneswar, Mar 13:

Top police officers from the three states of West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand met in the steel city of Jamshedpur in neighbouring Jharkhand on Thursday to discuss ways to ensure free and fair elections in these states, sources in the Odisha police told OST here.

The meeting comes just two days after the deadly attack by Maoists which left 16 security personnel dead in Chhattisgarh.

Various issues including coordination among the police in the three states, sharing of information about Maoists and other criminals and poor telecommunication network in some remote areas came up for discussion in the meeting today, the sources said.
