Commissionerate Police in Odisha todaysaid they have arrested two persons, on charges of committing theft at different mobile towers in the outskirts of the state capital, following a raid on Friday.
The police have seized two electronic aluminium transformers, 45 bundles of aluminium coil used in motors (weighing 107 kg), 12 aluminium plates (48 kg), copper wire (50 kg), brass metal thali (6.5 kg), lead used in batteries (14 kg) and Amco fibre battery from their possession.
The accused identified as Muna Sahoo (22) and Gajendra Sahoo, both from Bainchua village under Balianta police limits, were booked under section 379, 411 and 34 of IPC.
According to Commissionerate sources Balianta police led by Zone-IV ACP Akshay Mishra conducted a raid at Bainchua village and arrested the accused and seized the articles they had stolen from different mobile towers.
Search operation is on to arrest two other accused, Kalandi Sahoo and Purna Chandra Sahoo, who are still at large, police sources said.
