Odisha Tourism and Culture minister Ashok Kumar Panda today reviewed different events and activities that have been planned on the occasion of Ithe World Tourism Day scheduled on September 27.
As per the schedule, the minister will flag off a Tourism Walk at 7 AM in the capital city which will start from Master Canteen Square to Ekamra Haat via Ram Mandir.
Besides, there will be a procession of the Pink auto-rickshaws from Rupali Square to Ekamra Haat.
The theme of this year is “Tourism and Community Development”.
To celebrate the event and the theme, four roadside platforms will be prepared to showcase the performing folk art forms of Odisha such as Ghoda Nacha, Sambalpuri, Gotipua and Ghoomra dances.
The meeting also decided to extend warm welcome to the tourists at the airport, railway stations, Sun Temple at Konark and other important major tourist spots in the state by the stakeholders in tourism business.
Apart from this, different competitions like painting, debate, photography and quiz will also be held on the occasion.
The winners of different competitions will be awarded at a state level function at Rabindra Mandap in the evening.
This would be followed by a cultural function organised by the Odisha Tourism Cultural Association.
