Concerned over food safety in the state, the Odisha government today decided to set up a Food Safety Appellate Tribunal.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today gave his approval to the proposal to set up the Tribunal which will have an officer from the judiciary of the rank of a district judge, said an official release.
The tribunal will conduct hearings on disputes arising out of violations of the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006, the release added.
