Bhubaneswar, Odisha’s capital city, will hots the golden jubilee convention of Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) at hotel Mayfair Lagoon here from September 25-27 this year.
As per sources in FHRAI, more than 1000 delegates will attend this three-day convention and deliberate on issues of interest to the tourism and hotel industry.
The second day of FHRAI convention will be marked as Odisha day this year.
The Tourism Department of Odisha Government will make a special presentation on tourism opportunities in the state on the second day of the convention, sources said.
“The convention will end on September 27, World Tourism Day. On this day, we will take out a heritage rally in coordination with the State Government,” said President of the association Tajinder Singh Walia.
FHRAI is the apex body of the four regional associations representing the hospitality industry. It provides an interface between the hospitality industry, political leadership, academics, international associations and other stake holders for promoting and protecting the interests of the hospitality industry.
With 3876 members comprising approximately 2557 hotels, 1216 restaurants, 99 associate members and the four regional associations, FHRAI is a mammoth force of hospitality industry that brings several million dollars to the exchequer and employs more than 17 million direct workers.
