Bhubaneswar, Nov 1:
Odisha is likely to experience the onset of winter from November 4. The temperature has been on a downward slide since last three days and the trend is likely to continue, said Regional Meteorological Department of Bhubaneswar in a forecast issued today.
The state has been witnessing a cloudy, hazy and chilly weather since past three days under influence of a trough line. However, it is likely to change from tomorrow. The sky is expected to be cloud free catalysing lower temperatures at night in the coming days throughout the state.
“Under influence of airflow from west and north-west side, most parts of the state are presently experiencing a chilly weather. There is also the effect of a trough line formed at a height of 2.1 km from sea level impacting the weather. We expect the weather to become clearer starting tomorrow as the trough line disappears,” said Director of Regional Meteorological Department Sarat Chandra Sahu.
“The minimum temperature has been receding steadily. As per reports from various centres in the state, the lowest temperature has been between 18 and 20 degree Celsius. This is likely to continue till November 4. However, it would drop further from November 4 owing the clear sky,” he added.
