The 10 sites where land has been identified for the purpose are Kalinga Nagar in Jajpur, Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district, Dhamra in Bhadrak, Rourkela in Sundargarh district, besides various places in the districts of Cuttack, Khordha, Dhenkanal, Angul,  Jharsuguda and Baleswar, official sources said.

“IDCO had identified about four lakh acres of land for the land bank. After ORSAC studied these lands, it was found that there are about two lakh acres of contiguous land spread over 22 districts. He asked the chief secretary to review the progress of the work every month and report to him. He also asked IDCO to take CSR activities more seriously and expedite projects like crafts museum, Mission Shakti building and Krishi Bhawan.

It was revealed in the meeting that IDCO has created special purpose vehicles (SPVs) for various industrial parks such as downstream steel units at Kalinga Nagar, aluminium park at Angul, plastic park and PCPIR at Paradip, electronics park and SEZ park in Bhubaneswar.

Besides, it has developed SPVs for a railway corridor and Sports development. It has set deadlines for completion of several projects like Angul Aluminium Park by December 2016, Paradip Plastic Park by July 2016, Bhubaneswar Seafood Park by December 2016 and Electronics Park by 2017.

Apart from this, IDCO has taken up two SEZs projects— Infocity and Infovalley in Bhubaneswar and four PPP projects—Bhubaneswar Biotech Park, Baleswar Plastic Cluster, Rayagada Food Park and Bhubaneswar IT parks.
