Bhubaneswar: The swine flu toll in Odisha today increased to 11 with two more persons succumbing to the disease in the State, official sources said.
A man and a woman died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here this evening.
The sources said 16 of 47 samples tested positive for swine flu on Wednesday, as the number of affected persons increased to 171.
A total of 477 samples have been tested so far.
Meanwhile, the number of deaths due to dengue in the state stood at two. However, the health department said there is no need for panic as the situation is under control.
Earlier in the week, Health Secretary P.K. Meherda assured that the government is taking all possible steps to tackle swine flu and dengue outbreak in the state.
