For the first time ever, Odisha school students have won five awards for the East Zone in the fourth national level exhibition and project competition (NLEPC), organised by the Union Science and Technology department, that concluded at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on October 8.
In the East Zone category, Saswati Rath from Kandhamal and Debasish Sivamangal from Puri district won the prize of Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively along with mementos.
In state category, Odisha was awarded first prize and second prize Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively with mementos.
Hrusikesh Patra of Bhubaneswar stood first while Sudiptee Mandal of Mayurbhanj and Ankur Majumdar of Nawarangapur districts stood second in the state category, informed state commissioner-cum-secretary, School and Mass Education Usha Padhee.
