Jajpur, June 23:
The marital discord within the royal family of the erstwhile Sukinda princely state in Jajpur district of Odisha is getting murkier by the day with both sides trading charges and counter charges against each other while demanding an impartial probe and action.
Rejecting the charges made against her by her husband and in-laws, Yuvarani Aparajita Singhdeo had on Sunday said that earlier kings used to dispense justice. But she found it strange that instead of providing justice to his own daughter-in-law, her father-in-law was actually maligning her by leveling false charges. She said she had been subjected to torture for a long time. Anybody coming forward to help her out was also being maligned, she alleged.
A case has been registered at the Jajpur Road police station after an FIR was lodged by the Yuvarani, said Jugal Kishore Das, SDPO, Jajpur Road.
Das said action will be taken as per law and the accused will be arrested very soon.
On Saturday, king of erstwhile Sukinda princely state Bhudeb Bhupati Harichandan Mohapatra, father-in-law of Yuvarani Aparajita Singhdeo, had demanded a proper probe into the matter.
It may be recalled that the lid was finally blown off the marital discord within the royal family of the erstwhile Sukinda princely state after Yuvarani Aparajita Singhdeo lodged an FIR against her husband Yuvraj Anil Kumar Singhdeo at the Jajpur Road police station alleging that her husband was having an extra marital relationship with a woman employed in a company at Kalinganagar. She had accused her husband of torturing her because of her opposition to the affair.
