Cuttack: Birth anniversaries of freedom fighters Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Veer Surendra Sai were celebrated across Odisha today.

Rajya Sabha MP Soumya Ranjan Patnaik paid floral tributes to Subhas Bose at the Netaji Birthplace Museum in Odia Bazaar here and termed January 23 as an auspicious occasion as two great freedom fighters of the nation were born on the day.

Youths of the country should get inspired by the heroics of the two legends and their sacrifice and bravery. That would be the best tribute to Netaji and Veer Surendra Sai, said Patnaik.

Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal also paid homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at the Birthplace Museum.

Taking to Twitter, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid tributes to the two freedom fighters.

Describing Bose as the son of the soil, the CM said Netaji’s philosophy will always inspire countrymen. Similarly, Patnaik said Veer Surendra Sai will always be remembered for his rebellion against the British Government.
