Bhubaneswar: Buoyed by the success of Odisha Mining Corporation’s (OMC’s) Super 30 initiative, state public sector undertakings (PSUs) will also emulate the success model and impart coaching to 100 students.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced this today on the sidelines of felicitation ceremony of 32 OMC Super students for cracking JEE (Advanced) examination this year.

“I appreciate the CSR initiative of Odisha Mining Corporation to nurture such meritorious students from economically weaker sections of our society. The OMC has set the right example for other State Public Sector Undertakings to emulate. Now, let me make an announcement that other State PSUs will also impart similar coaching to 100 more students,” Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said.

My government is deeply committed to realise the true potential of our youth by building an ecosystem conducive for development of human capital. I am happy to know that 38 students out of 75, who received rigorous coaching, have cleared JEE Advanced Test, and are eligible to take admission in the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology, he added.

It may be mentioned here that OMC had signed an MOU with Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership (CSRL), New Delhi in 2014 to train meritorious yet underprivileged students free for cracking IIT entrance.

It was envisaged on the lines of Patna-based Super 30, started by 1977-batch IPS officer Abhayananda.
