Bhubaneswar, June 7:
Hundreds of investors today lodged a complaint with the office of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Odisha Crime Branch against a ponzi firm Future India and Infrastructure Industry Ltd for duping them of crores of rupees.
The investors, who hail from Jajpur, said the company collected more than Rs 5 crore from them promising high returns but failed to return their money. They said they had lodged a complaint with the Jajpur police against the Managing Director (MD) of the company Sreemat Kumar Mallik in 2012.
“Acting on our complaint, Jajpur police had arrested the MD but he was granted bail by the local court there because the police did not investigate the matter properly and presented only a two-page report to the court, thus helping him to get off the hook,” said an investor Satya Narayan Mishra.
Mishra demanded action against the concerned police officials in Jajpur for facilitating the bail for the accused MD of the company.
