Athagarh MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain, who is seeking re-election from the constituency this time, has been accused of violating the model code of conduct in force for the coming elections.
As per the allegation lodged before the State Election Commission, Swain had allegedly summoned teachers of all primary and upper primary schools under Athagarh block at the Dhabaleswar IT, a technical institution at Radhadamodarpur run by one of his relatives to seek their cooperation in the Assembly election.
After a complaint was lodged in this regard, Athagarh sub collector Madhusudna Mishra dispatched ADM and flying squad magistrate Nirmal Chandra Sethi to the Radhadamodarpur for an on the spot inquiry.
Many of the teachers fled the spot after Sethi arrived However, the entire scene had been video recorded, Sethi told media persons on Sunday.
