The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) was leading in 84 Assembly constituencies in the first round counting of votes that began in Odisha this morning.
Till reports last came in, Congress was leading in 19, BJP in 14 and others in 7 constituencies .
The BJD was leading in Tirtol, Nayagarh, Brahmagiri, Nimapara, Gopalpur, Bhanjanagar, Deogarh, Jatni, Jayadev, Athgarh, Pipili, Barabati-Cuttack, Choudwar-Cuttack, Bargarh, Puri, Badamba, Patkura, Mahakalapada, Sukinda, Jajpur, Dharmasala, Binjharpur, Aul, Ghasipura and Brahmapur.
The Congress was leading in Hindol, Bolangir, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Kantabanji, Paradip, Jeypore and Rajnagar.
The BJP on the other hand was leading in Brajarajnagar, Padmapur, Parjang and Rourkela.
Till reports last came in, president of Ama Odisha Party (AOP) Soumya Ranjan Patnaik was leading in Khandapada constituency.
In the counting for Lok Sabha seats, BJD was leading in 4, Congress in one and BJP in two seats.
