Kantilo/Khandapada, Apr 7:
The Ama Odisha Party (AOP) on Sunday intensified its election campaign in the Kantilo panchayat under Khandapada Assembly constituency for the second phase polls on April 17.
On the way, the party conducted street plays and informed the people about its manifesto.
Speaking on the occasion, Soumya Ranjan said the state, which has been under the gross misrule of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) for the last 15 years, needs a drastic change in the governance and approach to people’s issues.
“The BJD government is neck-deep in corruption and this is evident from the mining, MGNREGA, chit fund and dal scams. There is now a crying need for an alternative front in Odisha that can offer inclusive growth and a governance system that is responsive to the needs of the people. Ama Odisha Party is committed to provide a clean and responsible government to the people if they support the much needed revolutionary change in the state’s polity”, he said.
In his address, Kharavela Swain said the people of Odisha would give a befitting reply to the corrupt BJD government led by Naveen Patnaik in this election.
Later, addressing another public meeting in the area, Swain reminded the people of the rise in goondaism and corruption under the sitting BJD MLA of Khandapada.
Among others, Sripati Maharana, Gokulananda Sahu, Jayakrushna Behera, Debaraj Sethi, Antaryami Dalei, Surendra Sahu, Jalia Mishra, Surendra Dalei, Kailash Chandra Dalei, Bijay Nanda and hundreds of party workers from Kantilo panchayat participated in the rally.
