Bhubaneswar, Feb 16:
Television actor Pralipta Priyadarshini Samal aka Jessy, event coordinator Pralay Jena and driver Dhaneswar Behera today turned up at the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) at Rasulgarh Square in the Odisha capital for lie-detection test.
Soro police, which is investigating the death of actor Ranjit Patnaik alias Raja, had written to SFSL authorities to conduct polygraph test on the trio.
Actor Jessy was accompanied by her mother and woman police personnel to the lab for the test. The test will be conducted in the presence of Soro police personnel. The investigating officer (IO) and IIC of Soro police station Parsuram Sahu was present during the process.
However, the test could not be performed due to technical issues. A later date would be finalised to conduct the test again, sources said.
Earlier, a six-member special investigating team was constituted comprising officials from Balasore Industrial Estate police station, Remuna police station and Soro police station to inquire into the death of Raja.
While interrogation, police reportedly found incoherence in the statements of these three persons who had accompanied the deceased actor to a stage show in Balasore district on February 6 evening.
Following marathon rounds of interrogation, the investigators decided to conduct lie detector test on the three.
Balasore SP Niti Sekhar had said, we haven’t arrived at any conclusion. We are investigating the case from various angles. The case is wide open. We cannot comment now whether it was an accident or murder.
