According to sources, Soro police, which is investigating the actor’s murder, have summoned Jessy to appear before it by 8 pm failing which it is likely to issue warrant against her.

“Notice has been served on actor Jessy asking her to cooperate in the investigation and appear before the police. If she fails to turn up then action will be initiated against her as per law,” Balasore SP Niti Sekhar said after visiting the spot today.

Following a complaint lodged by Amiya Patnaik, uncle of Raja Patnaik, Soro police had summoned female actor Jessy, event manager Pralay Jena and driver Dhaneswar Behera who had accompanied the deceased actor to an even on last Saturday.

While the duo barring Jessy appeared before the police on Thursday, the latter failed to appear before it.

Polygraph test on Pralay and Dhaneswar is under consideration. We would go ahead with it if need be, Sekhar added.

“The case against actor Jessy, event manager Pralay Jena, driver Dhaneswar Behera has not been registered based on investigation. Rather, it has been registered based on the allegations of the uncle of Raja Patnaik. Case has been registered under Sec 34 and 302 of IPC,” Soro police station IIC Parshuram Sahu said.

The investigation so far has revealed that it could be a case of suicide or accident. The case is wide open and we are investigating other angles too, Sahu added.

While search at various locations to locate the actress have failed to yield any results, the tele actress is said to have gone into hiding. She remained incommunicado as her mobile phone was switched off.

Yesterday, Soro police took Pralay and Dhaneswar to the place near Chaparpada bridge over river Kansa Bansa in Balasore district where the actor reportedly fell off the bridge while he had gone to attend nature’s call. The police asked them to narrate the sequence of events which led to the actor’s death.

The actor was returning after performing in a stage show by Kalinga Kanya Gananatya at Taranka Tipisigadia under Makhanpur panchayat under Khaira block in Balasore district when the incident took place.

Initially, he was rushed to Bhadrak district headquarters hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
