Odisha police rescue abducted Nayagarh businessman

Odisha police today rescued a businessman from Chilika area who was abducted from Nayagarh on Thursday evening.

The businessman identified as Bhaskar Sahu was abducted by unidentified men from near Nayagarh Police Training School. Following the incident, Nayagarh police swung into action and launched a manhunt to trace the abducted marble trader.

As per reports, the kidnappers made a ransom call to the victim’s brother and demanded Rs 60 lakh to free him.

With the help of mobile phone tracking technology, the cops traced the callers to Chilika area. The crack team laid a trap to net the criminals and apprehended five of the six abductors.

“We tracked the mobile phones of the abductors and traced them to Chilika area. We went to the location where they had kept Bhaskar Sahu with the help of a boat and nabbed them,” Nayagarh SP Manoranjan Mohanty said.
