Odisha Police have begun investigation into the death threat to Jogesh Kumar Singh, BJD MLA of Sundargarh by some unidentified persons.
According to police, some youths called Ritesh Singh, brother of Yogesh, on his mobile phone on Wednesday evening identifying themselves as Sanjay Yadav and Sisir Samal. They rebuked Singh with obscene language and threatened to blow him up with bombs. However, not taking the matter seriously, Ritesh disconnected his mobile. However, these youths called him up again at 9 PM from the same mobile number.
Following the incident, Ritesh lodged a written complaint with the Sargipalli outpost of Lefripada police station this morning while his brother lodged a similar complaint with the district SP R Prakash demanding police protection.
“We are investigating the matter and will take immediate action against the unidentified callers,” the SP told the media.
