Bhubaneswar, Mar 1:

The Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation Limited (OSPHWCL) on Saturday launched project ‘E-Nirbaaha’, which will work on the global German based software System Application and Products (SAP)-Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project to be implemented from 2014-15 financial year.

Speaking to media persons here today, Satyajit Mohanty, CMD of OSPHWCL informed that for the 30 years of its existence, it has been the leading state-owned construction corporation of Odisha with a turnover of more than Rs 241 crores in the year 2012-13.

“We have projected a turnover of Rs 315 crores for the Financial Year 2013-14. For this, the corporation is engaged in as many as 2000 projects in the state -primarily building infrastructure for police, fire services, prisons and the judiciary.

“With the launch of these projects and use of the new software, we can conduct ourselves fairly, honestly and transparently in our internal work,” Mohanty said.

“Earlier, all works were done manually. Now it will  be converted to IT-based management. The corporation was looking for Enterprise Resource Planning Application to manage the internal and external resources, including tangible assets, financial resources, materials, and human resources, besides facilitating the flow of information between all business functions inside the boundaries of the organization and manage connections with outside stakeholders. This software will provide all these facilities  towards forming a total quality organisation and setting standards of excellence for the corporation,” Mohanty added.

The software has been used earlier by OMC and OPTCL in the state.

OSPHWCL will be the third corporation in the state to function with this software with five modules such as project system, material management, human capital management, financial accounting and controlling and system administration to deliver quality construction at best possible cost on time.

Mohanty further said OSPHWCL had signed an agreement with CMC Limited, a Mumbai-based IT company in October 2011, which was helping in the implementation of this software.
