Local police today busted a fake certificate racket in district headquarters town of Odisha’s Jeypore with arrest of seven persons involved in the forgery act.
Based on reliable inputs, the Town Police raided a hideout in a residential area where the accused were operating their business.
As per reports, seven persons have been arrested along with the seizure of a computer, CPU, colour printer, scanner, rubber stamps, eight mobile phones and several incriminating documents from the spot.
“Seven people have been arrested for running fake certificate racket. Of them, four hail from Cuttack district and the rest are localites. We are investigating further into the incident,” TN Rath, IIC Town Police station said.
Later in the day, the accused were forwarded to a local court.
Soon after the incident, people gathered at the place where police conducted the raid and complained to the police that many more such rackets are active in the city. They are duping the gullible youth and playing with their future.
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the case.
