The arrests in connection with the murder of dreaded criminal Sushanta Das alias Khasua has risen to 10 with the arrest of three more accused in the case today in Odisha’s Balasore.


According to reports, Sahadevkhunta police today nabbed three more accused for their alleged complicity in the murder of the history-sheeter.

Earlier on Thursday, seven more accused were arrested by the police in connection with this case.

Notably, the 38-year-old was hacked to death by some assailants near Sobharampur while he was on his way to mediate between groups of two villages under Sahadevkhunta police station yesterday.

“My husband has been killed by Papa Panda over past enmity,” Anita Das, the wife of the deceased had alleged.

Earlier, Khasua, who is allegedly involved in more than a dozen criminal cases including murder, dacoity, highway robbery and extortion, was booked under National Security Act (NSA) and jailed. His gang was active in robberies on NH-60 and NH-5. It may be mentioned here that several cases are pending against Khasua in different police stations in at least three districts in the state.
