Bhubaneswar, Oct 21:
The answer sheets for the Plus two examination conducted by the Odisha Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), will have 24 pages for all papers barring Mathematics- which will have 32 pages- from the next academic year, sources in the Higher Education department said.
However, this decision will be implemented only after it receives the state government’s approval, after which a formal notification to this effect will be made, sources in the department added.
A senior official of the department said the practice of providing 32-page answer booklets to the examinees was introduced last year. But during the evaluation of answer sheets it was found that most of the examinees used only 8 to 10 pages of the booklet while answering questions in all subjects except Mathematics.
The decision to cut down on the number of pages in the answer booklets was considered necessary because it means undue wastage of money on additional and unused pages, he added.
A file in this regard has been sent to the chief secretary Gokul Chandra Pati by the secretary,Higher Education for approval, the official informed.
