Bhubaneswar, Jan 14:
With panchayat polls inching closer, Odisha unit of BJP today released its second phase campaign posters along with an audio CD to highlight the achievements of BJP led union government and failures of Biju Janata Dal led State Government.
The new posters highlight the Union Government share of Rs 29 in State’s Rs 1 per kilogram rice scheme, Center’s housing scheme that offers Rs 1,20,000 for pucca houses for the beneficiaries, easy housing loans in low interest rates among others.
Addressing the party workers on the occasion, BJP’s Odisha in charge Arun Singh alleged that a secret alliance between BJD and Congress have denied the people of Odisha their rights.
“Whoever in Congress opposed Naveen had to lose power. Sonia Gandhi appointed leaders according to Naveen’s wish. Congress was in power in the Center for 10 years. That period damaged the backbone of Odisha economy. The alliance of Congress and BJD has ruined the state. People of Odisha need to get rid of them and bring BJP to power,” said Singh.
The party, earlier on January 6, had released the first set of posters and banners.
Among key issues highlighted in the first phase posters were: Nagada deaths, Japanese Encephalitis deaths, Dana Majhi incident, removal of black stoles at Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s meeting, Rishi death and its links with a sex tape allegedly featuring Bhubaneswar Mayor, violence against women and murder of Itishree, Bebina and Madhabilata, child birth in auto rickshaws etc.
