Cuttack: Operation Paree-II, a month-long drive to rescue and rehabilitate Odisha’s missing children, will be launched from September 1, a top police official said today.
The special drive will be launched by the Crime Branch of Odisha Police in association with the Women and Child Development Department.
“Special drive ‘Operation Paree II’ to begin from Sept 1 to trace all the missing children of Odisha within and outside the state,” said Crime Branch ADG Santosh Upadhyay.
The first phase of the operation (Sept 1-15) will be held within Odisha to rescue the missing children.
The second phase (Sept 16-30) will focus on rescuing and tracing missing children from Odisha in other parts of the country. All district police will be actively involved in this special drive, Upadhyay added.
Earlier, the Odisha police had launched ‘Paree Pain Katha Tiye’ (A word for the little angel), a State-wide awareness campaign against child sexual abuse, in association with the UNICEF. As many as fifteen vans modified as ‘Paree Express’ covered all 30 districts during the campaign from May 28 to June 12 this year.
