According to reports, Smruti Ranjan Behera, senior reporter with Odia news channel Focus Odisha, was shouted at and heckled by the minister himself.

The minister then ordered everyone out of his chamber.

Sources in the Focus TV said Routray singled out their reporter Smruti Ranjan and literally advanced to hold his collar in presence of all the television teams present there.

The incident has shocked and angered the entire media fraternity in Bhubaneswar.

Sources in the minister’s office, however, said the Revenue minister was “literally chased” by some media persons even after he had made it clear that he would not like to speak to the media on the Ghangapatana land scam as the Crime Branch was probing the matter. The minister lost his cool when some media person barged into his room and demanded answers to their questions.
