Odisha Food Supply and Consumer Welfare minister Sanjay Dasburma today met Union Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi and demanded LPG distribution centres in all blocks of the state.
During the meeting, Dasburma also sought the appointment of 108 new kerosene wholesalers in addition to the 169 already existing in Odisha so as to streamline kerosene distribution in the state.
Earlier in the day, the Odisha minister met Union Food and Civil Supplies minister Ram Vilas Paswan and discussed the implementation of the Food Security Act in the state.
Pointing out the anomalies in the Act which he said was affecting its proper implementation in the state, Dasburma urged Paswan to take urgent steps for the removal of these anomalies.
Drawing the Union minister’s attention to the difficulties caused by delayed lifting of rice by the Food Corporation of India (FCI), the Odisha minister urged him to open more central warehouses in the state.
Food, supplies secretary Madhusudan Padhi was present at the meeting.
