After a crorepati mining officer was arrested recently in a disproportionate assets case, Vigilance sleuths today conducted simultaneous raids on office and residence of a mining official posted in Odisha’s Rourkela on charges of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The officials of the anti-corruption wing raided four places including the residence of an official of the Rourkela deputy director of mines (DDM) office. The mining official has been identified as Biswanath Sahu.
During the raid, Rs 11.40 lakh cash and several incriminating documents have been found, sources said.
The sleuths raided the office of Sahu in Rourkela, his residence in Chhend area, ancestral house near Angul and his wife’s office.
