Cuttack, Jun 30:
Odisha is most likely to host some Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) matches this season.
At least four of the matches of second season of PKL scheduled to be played in Kolkata might be moved to Odisha. There are chances of all seven Kolkata matches being moved to Odisha as well.
“CEO of International Kabaddi Federation Deoraj Chaturvedi and two representatives of broadcaster Star Sports visited East Coast Railway Indoor Hall in Bhubaneswar and Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Hall in Cuttack to inspect the infrastructure. They have expressed satisfaction over the facilities at Cuttack,” said Secretary of Odisha Kabbaddi Association Ajay Behera.
A final decision will be taken on this count within a day or two, he added.
It may be noted that the second season of PKL starts from July 18. If the matches are moved to Odisha, they will be played possibly at Cuttack between July 22-25.
PKL is a Professional Kabaddi League in India, based on the format of the Indian Premier League. The first edition of the tournament had started on July 26 last year with eight franchises consisting of players from around the world.
