On the second day of its fifth phase probe into the sensational murder of Itishree Pradhan, a lady teacher of Tikiri Upper Primary School in Odisha’s Rayagada district, the CBI subjected Chandrasekhar Panda, former headmaster of the school, to a five-hour marathon grilling of at its camp office inside the office of the district collector on Thursday.
Apart from Panda, CBI DSP M Pathak and Inspector RD Sharma also grilled former assistant teacher and superintendent of the school hostel Yogeswar Benia and cook Sashi Bhusan Naik.
Sources said this was fourth round of grilling for Panda and he would be questioned a fifth time on Friday.
The incident had taken place during the tenure of Netrananda Dandasena as the headmaster of Tikiri UP School. Later, he was succeeded by Chandrasekhar Panda, who had allowed Itishree to stay in a room inside the school hostel premises.
Itishree succumbed to grievous burn injuries sustained after she was set ablaze in her room on the school premises by some unidentified persons on October 27, 2013 and breathed her last at a Vizag hospital four days after on November 1.
