Mohammad Kamran fired four goals to power Sai International School to a thumping 4-0 win over last year’s runners-up Xavier’s International School in a Group-E league match of the 25th Kalinga Marine-Bibekananda Memorial (KMBM) Inter-School Football Tournament at Unit-VI Govt Boys’ High School ground in the Odisha’s capital city today.
The nimble-footed forward struck in the 16th, 30th, 34th and 38th minutes to claim the award as player of the match.
This was the second straight win for Sai International, who barged into the pre-quarterfinals as group toppers with six points.
Vikash Residential School has also qualified for the last 16 stage, finishing second behind Sai International in Group-E.
In the other match of the day, Delhi Public School (Kalinga) and Buxi Jagabandhu English Medium School (BJEM) also reached pre-quarterfinals from Group-F after the last group match between them ended in goalless draw.
DPS, however, emerged group toppers with a goal difference of 6-0 against 1-0 by BJEM.
Saransh Mishra of DPS was adjudged the player of the match.
The group league engagements will conclude tomorrow with DAV School, Chandrasekharpur meeting Mother’s Public School and Sainik School taking on St Xavier’s School, Kedargouri.
