Khandahata village in Odisha’s Bargarh district is grieving for its son Ranjan Das, one of the seven jawans belonging to CRPF 230 battalion who was killed in a landmine blast in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday.
The body is supposed to reach his native village today.
Das had reported to Dantewada from Chennai, on Tuesday and he was supposed to go to Kerala for commando training, but destiny held something for him.
Ranjan was the youngest son of Akrura Das, he was working as a CRPF jawan for last one year .
The incident occurred when Das, along with six other CRPF personnel, were on their way from Nendli in Sukuma to Bhusaras camp in Chhattisgarh.
The IED blast was so powerful that the vehicle was thrown into the air and landed several hundred feet away from the blast site.
A deep crater was formed on the road and the bodies as well as the vehicle were completely blown apart.
