Puri: The photos of the interior parts (restricted zones) of Jagannath Temple, Lingaraj Temple and Sakhigopal Temple were posted on social media, exposing the poor security arrangements at these famous temples.
Tejas Sailor from Gujarat has posted pictures of the interior of Puri Srimandir, Sakhigopal and Lingaraj temples on his Facebook, which drew sharp criticism from people.
Tejas, according to his Facebook profile, works as a servant at Sri Sri Radha Damodar Iskcon Temple in Surat, came to Odisha to visit Bhubaneswar and Puri along with his friend.
Similarly, another youth identified, as Basudev Swain, a student of SCS College, Puri, also posted ‘Natabara Besha’ of Lord Gopaljew and goddess Radha of Sakhi Gopinath Temple in Puri on his social media accounts on ‘Anla Nabami.’
Earlier this month, one Hitesh Sunani of Gujarat had posted pictures of Srimandir’s Bhitar Bedha, Koili Baikuntha on his Facebook account, unleashing a hue and cry.
In recent past, the photos of Srimandir’s interiors including the sanctum sanctorum went viral on social media several times.
It is worth mentioning here that the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has banned the use of mobile phones and other electronic gadgets on Srimandir premises. It has put several signboards near the shrine to discourage devotees from carrying mobile phones into Srimandir.
