Bhubaneswar: An Inter-Ministerial Committee of the Odisha Government, which was formed to discuss about the demands of ‘Price, Prestige & Pension’ by farmers of the state, held its first meeting at the State Secretariat here today.
Finance Minister Shashi Bhusan Behera, the head of the committee, informed that the next meeting of the committee will be held at the Krishi Bhawan here on December 7, where members of several farmer organisations and agricultural experts will be invited to participate.
“Suggestions will be invited from various associations of farmers and agricultural experts to resolve the issue. On the basis of the suggestions, the state government will take steps accordingly,” he said.
Food Supplies and Cooperation Minister Surya Narayan Patro, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Pradeep Maharathy and other concerned officials were also present at the meeting.
