Cuttack, Jan 12:

The Cuttack SDJM court today rejected the bail plea of Odisha Stevedores Limited (OSL) Managing Director Mahimananda Mishra following which he was sent to Choudwar jail here.

The court directed the jail authorities to take proper health care of Mishra, sources said.

Earlier in the day, Mishra was taken from Samagol jail in Jagatsinghpur district and produced before the court.

The Twin City Commissionerate police sought a three-day remand of Mishra from the court for further interrogation in connection with the 2013 Cuttack Press Chhak bomb hurling case.

The Commissionerate police had on January 6 moved the court seeking Mishra’s inclusion as an accused in the case.

Criminal Ganesh Sahu of CDA area in Cuttack has been arrested in the case and the bomb was hurled under Mishra’s direction, police had said.

Notably, Mishra has been arrested over his alleged involvement in the murder of Seaways Shipping and Logistics Private Limited (SSPL) General Manager Mahendra Swain in Paradip on October 26 last year.
