After a successful investors’ meet held in Bangalore this August, Odisha Government today decided to organise similar events in Kolkata and Chennai. The decision on this context was taken in a high level meeting held at the Secretariat.
Chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and attended by Industries Minister Debi Prasad Mishra, MSME Minister Jogendra Behera, Ministers: Ashok Panda, Sanjay Das Burma and Pranab Prakash Das along with Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi among others, the meeting further deliberated on the upcoming ‘Make in Odisha Conclave’ scheduled to be held between November 30 and December 2 in Bhubaneswar.
“Today we worked on the contributions to be made by various departments during the conclave. We are trying to get various departments announce their policies before that. Priority will on biotech, pharma, tourism and apparel policies. These policies will be released before the event so that the investors know the policy framework within which they will operate,” said Industries Secretary Sanjeev Chopra.
According to a press notification issued by the Chief Minister’s Office after the meeting, the government will focus on industries such as chemicals, plastics and petrochemicals, mining and ancillary industries, food processing, tourism, textiles and electronics during the conclave.
Chief Minister Patnaik today released the logo for the conclave and dedicated the revamped Invest in Odisha website on the occasion. He further asked concerned departments to announce their investment policies by November 10.
