Cuttack, Sep 6:
The Odisha High Court on Friday rejected a petition to recall its order given on Wednesday giving the go ahead for holding of the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS)-2011 Mains examinations on September 6 as scheduled.
A petition filed by one Priyambada Das and others had urged the High Court to recall its Wednesday’s order that had allowed some unsuccessful candidates to appear for the Main examinations.
In their petition, they had submitted that only those candidates, who had challenged the results of the Preliminary examinations, have been allowed to sit in the Mains examinations.
The petitioners contended that due to adoption of faulty system of awarding grace marks in certain subjects, many meritorious aspirants missed the mark by a whisker and they should also be allowed to appear for the main examination.
Odisha Administrative Service (OAS)-2011 Mains examinations conducted by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) will begin today and would continue till September 30 with at least 5823 aspirants those who have cleared the Preliminary examinations appearing for the Main examinations.
