Cuttack, Sep 26:
Members of the Odisha High Court Bar Association will join work from Monday. The decision to this effect was taken following the grant of bail to former advocate general Asok Mohanty by the Khordha district sessions court today.
The High Court lawyers were on a ceasework for the last three days protesting against CBI’s arrest of Mohanty for his alleged links with the Artha Tatwa (AT) Group, a key player in the multi-thousand crore chit fund scam in Odisha.
The Association vice president Biren Shankar Tripathy said “Since bail has been granted to Asok Mohanty we will be joining work from Monday as Saturday is a holiday in the High Court”. He said, however, they will be holding the general body meeting scheduled for tomorrow at 10.30 am.
The Khordha district sessions court in Bhubaneswar allowed the former Odisha advocate general Ashok Mohanty to go on bail against a surety of Rs one lakh and two bailers.
