The Odisha High Court today directed the state government to conduct Odisha Joint Entrance examination (OJEE) for B-Tech admissions in the state from next academic session.
The direction came after Odisha Private Engineering College Association (OPECA) moved the High Court challenging the state government’s decision to join the national-JEE main examination for admissions into B-Tech courses.
Notably, admissions into B-Tech stream were conducted through national-JEE for the year 2014.
Hearing the petition of OPECA, the court directed the state government to conduct OJEE for B-Tech admissions in the state.
Besides, the court also stipulated the dates for notification, examination, and declaration of results. The court fixed June 1 as the date for publication of notification regarding the examination and June 24 as the date of the entrance examination. June 27 has been set for publication of results and counselling will be conducted between August 7 and 14, the court said.
