Decks have been cleared for setting up of second campus of Odisha’s Utkal University. The state government has agreed to set up the campus in rural region.
According to sources, the state Higher Education Department has written a letter to the registrar of Utkal varsity in this regard. It has been mentioned in the letter that 100 acres of land have been identified for the second campus of the premier university of the state.
As per the letter, the campus will be set up at Siha village under Badachana police station in Odisha’s Jajpur district. The department has advised the university authorities to hold discussions with the district administration in this regard.
The move is likely to benefit students of rural areas in the state aspiring to pursue higher education.
