Odisha govt sacks seven teachers for furnishing fake certificates


Kendrapara: Taking stringent action against the fake certificate racket here, Odisha government sacked seven teachers from their jobs in this connection.

The teachers who lost their jobs for producing fake certificates were Bharti Acharya of Derabis block Kambilo primary school. Shiva Prasad Panda and Goutam Panda of Jagannath Nodal UP school under Gadarpur block, Suresh Kumar Mallick of Shakarshan Nodal UP school and Rukmini Samal of Gotirbil UGME school.

Besides, disciplinary action has been taken by the School & Mass Education department against 109 others for not taking permission from the authorities for appearing Plus Two examination during their service.

Following several allegations reported over fake certificate racket operation in the district, the S&ME had directed the collector for verification of the certificates furnished by the teachers before regularizing their service.

The action was taken on the basis of the verification report submitted by the collector to the department.

Meanwhile, the S&ME department has recommended the government for regularizing the service of 539 eligible Gana Sikshaks in the district.
