Odisha Government has asked various employment commissions of the state to do the necessary to close 38,834 job openings across several departments.
According to a press notification issued by the Chief Minister’s Office after a high level meeting held at the Secretariat today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today took stock of the progress being made on employments for thousands of opening across various departments and asked the concerned authorities to expedite timely recruitment.
In the meeting, it was revealed that out of the 78,899 vacancies approved by the Finance Department of the State Government, 72,172 posts belong to the grass root level. While 33,445 posts have already been filled up, the government has asked various employment commissions to fill up another 38,834 posts.
The Chief Minister expressed his happiness over the progress made in employments under compassionate grounds wherein out of the 6,000 applications received, 4,500 appointments have been made.
Patnaik further directed officials to take necessary steps to resolve disputes pertaining to employment that are currently subjudice in various courts.
The meeting also deliberated on the 11,000 teacher positions for the School and Mass Education Department, lecturer positions for various colleges under Higher Education Department, Assistant Professor positions for medical colleges, doctor and paramedic openings in hospitals, deputy departmental officer in the Secretariat and sub-inspector openings under the Home Department.
