Bhubaneswar, Jun 4:
Odisha Government official,s led by Principal Secretary in the Department of Employment, Technical Education and Training (ETET) and Director of ETET will meet officials of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) tomorrow in New Delhi to discuss IIM Odisha issue.
“A team led by Principal Secretary and Director of ETET will meet MHRD officials tomorrow and present the state government’s answers to the queries raised by them in their recent letter. They will also convey our concerns over the delay in finalising the location of the proposed IIM,” said ETET Minister Sanjay Dasburma.
“We strongly urge the MHRD to send a team to Odisha and finalise the site. We have already selected two sites in Sambalpur. So far as temporary campus is concerned, we have identified four sites. Let them visit the sites and take a call. We have done everything that MHRD wanted us to do. It wouldn’t fair to hold-up this project any further,” he added.
It may be noted that the MHRD had written to the state government seeking details about the infrastructure facilities, temporary campus options, presence of mega industries, economic activities and employment opportunities for family members of IIM employees in and around the proposed site by June 5 after the state Government “strongly recommended” Sambalpur as the preferred destination for Odisha IIM.
