Odisha girl strikes team silver at Asian Shooting C’ship

Ace Odisha shooter Shriyanka Sadangi won silver medal in the 10 meter Air Rifle Junior Women’s category at the ongoing 13th Asian Shooting Championships at Kuwait City on Tuesday.

Shriyanka Sadangi and Mampi Das had qualified for the finals finishing at 4th and 7th position respectively. They won the team silver medal in the event with a combined total of 1228.

They won the silver medal on the inaugural day of the event.

Recently, Shriyanka won a bronze medal at the Asian Air Gun Championship in September this year at New Delhi.

Earlier, Shriyanka created a Youth World Record in the 10m Air rifle women team event at the 4th Asian Air Gun shooting Championship, Kuwait in October 2011 and won the Gold medal. She also won the Silver medal (team) in 10m Air Rifle event at theAsian Shooting Championship Doha, Qatar in Jan 2012.

She has also represented India at ISSF World Cup II, Milan, Italy and ISSF World Cup III Munich, Germany in May 2012 and ISSF World Cup III in Munich, Germany in May 2013.

It may be recalled that the shooter was bestowed with the Ekalabya Puraskar for 2013 for her outstanding performance in the international arena.
