Marmasparshi Das, a 15-year old girl from Rourkela has brought laurels for Odisha and the Steel City winning the Horlicks Main Bhi Idol 2015 on the popular Indian Idol Junior show recently. She received cash award of Rs. 2 Lakh, besides accolades from the judges and celebrities present on the set.
On the sidelines of the highly popular singing talent hunt programme Indian Idol Junior, another completion was organized among singing talents of the country, who were not able to participate in the contest for one reason or the other. According to sources, out of total number of one lakh contestant in this contest titles Horlicks Main Bhi Idol 2015, Marmasparshi Das (15) was chosen among the top three finalists and was invited to Mumbai for the final competition. With her splendid performance, Marmasparshi left the two other contestants from Lucknow and Mumbai behind and won the competition.
Marmasparashi was given the cash award on the Indian Idol junior set and was given a chance to sing one song chosen by the judges and celebrities of the Indian Idol Junior recently which would be aired on 5th September 2015 show. During the occasion, besides regular judges of Indian Idol junior like Salim Merchant, Vishal Dadlani and Sonakshi Sinha, there were film celebrities like Anil Kapoor, John Abraham and Shruti Hasan – all of whom appreciated the talent of Marmasparshi Das.
Marmasparshi, daughter of Bidhan Chandra Das, an employee of Urban Bank and Shila Das, a housewife, is a multi-faceted talent. Last year, she had emerged runners-up at a national level multi talent competition, organized by Max Life genius and won a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh. She has interest in Chess, Gita chanting, debating, quizzing and creative writing etc., besides being good in her academics as well. She has been getting guidance in classical music from Guru Budha Prasad Rao, Alaka Chand, Babaji Charan Biswal etc.
“I am extremely delighted that I could win the competition and bring laurels for my city and state.” said Marmasparshi.
