Boudh: In a major crackdown on ganja smuggling racket, police seized around two quintals of cannabis worth Rs 60 lakh from a forest near Nuapalli under Kantamal police limits in Boudh district today.
The cops also arrested a person identified as Subhransu Karmi in this connection. However, six persons involved in the ganja smuggling absconded from the spot.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid in Sulia forest near Nuapalli and nabbed Subhransu while he was packing the cannabis in sacks.
Further investigation in this connection is underway and search is on to nab the six other accused, said police.
