A day after freedom fighter Laxmi Indira Panda’s grandson Babula Panda was discharged from SCB hospital in Cuttack, he was brought to his home safely today.
Babula, who had gone missing from Bhubaneswar railway station on April 16, reached his home in Jeypore amid security. He was admitted to trauma care ICU of the SCB hospital after he was found in Mancheswar area of Odisha capital in critical condition.
He was discharged from the hospital yesterday and handed over to Koraput and Commissionerate police by the hospital authorities.
His mother Sujata Panda, who had been appealing to the government for his safe return, looked happy to see him at home.
Worth mentioning, politics was hotted up after Babula went missing from railway station. The incident had triggered debate over political parties’ alleged involvement behind his missing.
Babula had gone missing at Bhubaneswar railway station after attending a felicitation programme at Raj Bhawan on April 16. His parents received honour from Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the descendents of veteran freedom fighter Laxmi Indira Panda. Following the function, the family had headed towards railway station to return their home in Jeypore. However, they were separated from each other at the station.
