Puri: Couple of days after a person of Odisha’s Puri district committed suicide over his wife’s alleged extramarital affair and posted a video on Facebook in this regard, the woman has defended herself saying that she was not involved in such an affair.
“Prior to tying the knot with my husband Santanu Patra, my marriage was fixed by my family with Amaresh Swain of Jagatsinghpur, with whom he was suspecting me of having an extramarital affair. There was no such relation of mine with Amaresh after marriage,” she said in a video.
Here’s the video:
On the other hand, Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi said in a press conference that the wife of deceased Santanu Patra and Amaresh Swain will be brought under the purview of the investigation for questioning.
As per the complaint of the deceased’s mother, an unnatural death case has been registered into the incident.
According to the video posted by Santanu Patra, his wife, who is working as a nurse at a private nursing home in Cuttack, had a love affair with a youth of Jagatsinghpur namely Amaresh Swain before their marriage and was pregnant.
He also alleged that she committed abortion before the marriage and her family members didn’t reveal the incident to him before it.
“Amaresh had sent me photos of his and my wife’s intimate moments. When I confronted her, she denied it outright,” he said in the video.
Santanu further alleged in the video that his wife had “sexual relationship” with Amaresh after their marriage as well.
He went on to say that her family members were torturing and threatening him and unable to bear it, he decided to end his life.
