Kamini Sahu, wife of District Welfare Officer (DWO) Dhaneswar Prustry who committed suicide at his office in Odisha’s Rayagada district on February 17, today demanded stern action against former collector and PA, ITDA.
The widow and his son Debi Prasanna Prusty today sat on a dharna with the agitating BJP workers front of the collector’s office.
Later, accompanied by the BJP leaders, she met collector Jagannath Mohanty said submitted a memorandum demanding the immediate arrest of former collector Sashibhusan Padhy and former PA, ITDA Gorachand Gamang on the basis of the suicide note the DWO.
“The manner in which these two officials have tortured my husband, they should be arrested immediately. I have faith on the Crime Branch as well as the district administration who would give justice to me,” Kamini told reporters later.
However, her son said the state government, instead of punishing these two officials, has rehabilitated them to the place of their choice.
“They should be immediately arrested and the case should be taken up by the CBI”, he added.
“The BJP also demands CBI probe into the case and if necessary, the party would move the apex court”, said Siba Shankar Ulaka.
“I have discussed with the wife of the deceased and requested her to give in writing the details which will help the Crime Branch in its investigation into the case. Action would be taken against those found guilty,” the collector told OST.
Meanwhile, a team of Crime Branch police, led by DSP Ramesh Chandra Sethi interrogated Kamini Sahu in a hotel here in the evening.
